3 things that will make you a better leader in 3 minutes.

Leadership is tricky and it often becomes a side task on top of the day job. So, take our 3 top tips for leadership that will only take you 3 minutes every day. Build them into your day and practice:

  1. Fast Feedback

Get into the habit of timely, specific feedback. Use the SBI model to structure how you give it. Your team want to know what you notice about their performance so they can repeat it or change it.

“Great job!” – is nice but it doesn’t show you listened or give any real tangible feedback. Instead, try; “When you presented to the client today, you were direct, concise, and professional. I can see they trust us now because of your professionalism!”

Specific – What example do you have to back it up? When did this happen?

Behaviour – Factually detail what you saw or heard.

Impact – What was the effect of the action or inaction – positive or negative?

  1. Rock your Big Rocks

Life gets busy and there is always extra work that clouds our working week. So, take a minute before you wrap up for the day to fish out your Big Rocks for tomorrow. List the top 3 things you’d like to have progressed tomorrow.

  1. Curiosity is Key
